The design concept is evolved through the juxtaposition of two articulated triangular prisms that are forged together by a cylindrical atrium lit by skylight on top.The office building has been conceptualised as a state of the art project in technology terms and as a complex with a distinctive design identity in architectural terms.
The main entrance from nehru road to the building is modulated through a stepped landscaped court roofed over by a skylit space frame. The secondary entrance is from the northwest; both entrances have clear physical and visual access to the atrium space. A capsule elevator is provided for vip/visitor movement, whereas a bank of two elevators provide the main vertical movement. Each floor has extremely well-planned services and office spaces, self service pantry and lounge, main and subsidiary reception spaces, the column grids in the office are at 7.0 metres c/c and hence maximum flexibility in placement of 'open space' furniture system is possible.
The introduction of the curtain wall system does away with the external visible aluminium members and gives a visual excitement to glass jointing. Besides it is extremely functional in reducing outside heat and noise level. The exterior is a combination of aluminium panels, reflective glass and granite stone, all of which require least maintenance.
The atrium is a dynamic visual space that not only links the various floors but also serves as a light well, so that almost all the office spaces are well lit throughout the day and reliance on artificial light is minimal. Large public art and sculpture is envisaged in the atrium as it is also an entrance space for the entire building.
