This is a unique opportunity to represent as a "microcosm", future as an experiment towards a deeper understanding of the future urban scape.
All too often we operate on a purely theoretical plane. Too much material has been generated without multiple studies yet the situation on the ground is dismal. One look at the chaos of our cities bears testament to this.
Finally, this haph-hazard agglomerated global development is endangering the existence of the very planet we live on. This cannot change if we do not bring about a transformation in the very manner in which we approach this subject. What does this really simply?
Our current approach is completely fragmented: we have forgotten basic fundamentals.
Mixed use development pros – travel time, social impact, etc.
Creation of public/ recreation/ green space.
Re-introduction of pavements, cycling trails, etc.
An integrated approach to living, working, learning and recreation.
Our concept is of an underlying sustainability, that goes beyond the common use of that word.Five elements:
Earth
Fire
Water
Sun
Wind
To us the entire site is treated as a unified organism that emulates 'nature'.
We strongly believe that schools and universities are not the only places for learning. Spaces in every part of this complex are conceptualized as workshops, laboratories, nature parks where students can be inspired.
The very nature of a start-up is based on an 'Intelligence Bank'. Imagine students having access to these start up groups that may be varying from a group working on the development of AI to a group looking at development of natural fibers into fabrics. The possibilities are infinite if we can create an 'open' environment that encourages exchange, not only between the different groups but also allowing accessibility to young minds.
It is for this reason that we have developed a model 'without boundaries' which is critical for the transformation we are all striving for.
